The author, doctor and social commentator Tage Voss is still sharp as a tack despite his 90 years. Sitting at his old chopping board from 1926, he is writing a book – “TO Fade” – about the conditions of aging. This is his book number 43.

With morbid humor, unsentimental realism and sadness – he tells the director Gunvor Bjerre and his granddaughter Susanne – about how the body’s shell decays, the senses are only a distant memory, and about the decay of the home. As a doctor, he can observe himself with professional distance – and at the same time, his own body is a physical example of what he is talking about.
