Global Stay Tours

Global Stay Tours are digital study tours from the classroom with a focus on dialog, personal engagement, community and sustainable development.

Danish school students meet young cultural guides from Teatro Trono or Nafsi Africa. They are shown around El Alto – the poor residential area of La Paz – or the slums of Nairobi. In collaboration with the cultural guides, they work with specific SDGs and exchange experiences from life as they experience it.

The project originated during the corona pandemic when air travel was suspended, but virtual travel proved to have the potential to make it a real and sustainable alternative or supplement to traditional student travel.

The young cultural guides in Kenya and Bolivia come from the cultural organizations Nafsi Africa and Teatro Trono, which have previously sent young cultural groups on a tour of Denmark.
