We break down boundaries
(2013, 29:21 minutes)
“We break down borders” is a movie about cultural encounters, communication and the battle for natural resources. It describes a trip to Denmark in 2013 by a group of young artists from Teatro Trono*.
Invited by Spor Media’s Global Kids project, the group portrays the encounter between Bolivian and Danish children and young people in school workshops, during free time and at home with a host family. The film also gives an insight into Teatro Trono’s performance “Hasta la ultima gota” (To the last drop) about the fight against privatization of water resources in Bolivia. The performance creates debate with Danish students about our relationship with resources.
The film was made by two young filmmakers, Shezenia Hannover and Anahi Machicado, who were film educators in the Miradas Juveniles project. They followed the group before, during and after the tour, filming school workshops, during free time and at the home of a host family. They filmed Teatro Trono’s performance “Hasta la ultima gota” – “To the last drop” about the fight against privatization of water resources in Bolivia.
For Shezenia and Anahí, filming in Bolivia and Denmark and editing in Bolivia was part of their training in the Miradas Juveniles project. Along the way, they were helped by Danish-Chilean director Estephan Wagner and Spor Media employee and film editor Oskar Fanta.
