Why participate in a Global Stay Tour?

In times of lockdown and increased climate awareness, it can be difficult to travel long distances. With Global Stay Tour you can stay at home and still get insights into what is happening in other parts of the world.

On a Global Stay Tour, you will strengthen your intercultural competencies in the following ways:

  1. You will increase your knowledge. It can be about the living conditions of some of the world’s poorest or about the consequences of climate and environmental change. This will provide you with an understanding of global issues and how our actions can affect people in other parts of the world.
  2. You will meet young people of the same age. The personal meeting can help give you a nuanced perception of how young people in Kenya or Bolivia experience everyday life. The meeting can also reveal how much you can have in common across continents.
  3. You will be involved in actions aimed at educating your community and other actors about global issues and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals from the perspectives of the Global South.

Spor Media´s experiences with cultural encounters:

Since 2004, Spor Media has collaborated with cultural organisations in countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Through the project Global Kids, we have invited young artists from one or more countries to tour in Denmark every year. They have taught acrobatics, dance and music to Danish children and youth, and developed performances related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – seen from their own reality.

Global Stay Tours builds on our experiences and contacts from Global Kids and gives the young people in the partner organisations the opportunity to continue their important work and strengthen their intercultural competencies.
